Otvet_islam

Otvet_islam is a Russian corpus of Islamic religious Q&A texts (questions and published answers), including fatwas and expert replies, collected from several Russian web portals in January 2026.

Sources

Regional note: in the Volga region (including Tatarstan), the Sunni tradition is predominant and the Hanafi madhhab is commonly associated with local Tatar Muslim religious practice.

In Dagestan, Sunni Islam is predominant; the Shafi‘i madhhab is the most widespread, while the Hanafi madhhab is also represented.

Answers in this corpus are authored by Islamic scholars, muftis, and imams representing different regions of Russia.

Document structure

Linguistic annotation

The corpus is annotated in the Universal Dependencies (UD) framework using UDPipe (lemmatization and UPOS tagging; morphological features in UD FEATS format). The tagger/lemmatizer model is based on UD Russian SynTagRus.
